First time joining X-Physique?
Here are some tips to spark off your preparation:
Step 1: Find out your goal. Are you there to grab the trophy or simply for peace, fun and laughter.
Step 2: Pick out your winning team. *Note: Teamwork is VERY important.
Step 3: Check for your team's weakness. This will determine your training focus. For example, if stamina is a weakness, you will have to train up your stamina. Exercises will include jogging, weight lifting and probably hiking.

Step 4: What are your team's strengths? Strengths will provide you with great advantages during the race if you utilize them well.
Step 5: Allocate each of your team member a role. Who will be the navigator, time keeper, etc.
Step 6: Plan your training schedule. Start from light exercises, you won't want to get yourself injured right from the start.

Step 7: Start your training!
The training!
1) Basic phase: In adventure racing, there are skills needed. This is when you start learning or brush up those skills, which includes swimming, biking, kayaking, etc. Depending on your abilities, allocate the amount of time for this phase.

2) Stamina training phase: This is when you train up your stamina required for the race. Exercises will include jogging, swimming, weight lifting, etc. Do include hills or any form of possible resistance in your training. It is important not to train too hard to the point of injuring yourselves. Do only what your body can take and make sure not to miss any warm-ups before you start your training.
3) Rest phase: Before the actual race, do give yourself some time, probably about a week, to allow your body to recover from your training. Make use of this time to also prepare the necessary equipments that you will need for the race. Also, drink plenty of water and don't tire yourself out too much.

4) The race begins: At the final phase, you will get to see the results of your hard work. Do your best and perservere till the end. After the race, do reward yourself and reflect on the things you have done really well and continue with it. But do not be demoralized if you didn't do as well as you expect. Instead, learn from mistakes and make sure you will never make history repeat itself.
At the last point, X-Physique 2012 wishes all participants good luck for the race.
SEE YOU THERE!
